How to have your data deleted.

One email is enough. This page says where to send it, what gets deleted, and how long it takes.

1.1

What this page covers

This page covers two things: the records this site keeps, and the app I operate on Meta's platforms (Facebook, Instagram, and Threads).

The privacy notice says what is collected. This page says how to have it deleted.

1.2

The app on Facebook, Instagram, and Threads

I am the only person who uses this app. I use it to publish posts to my own pages and to read the statistics for those posts. Nobody else signs in through it, and it holds no account data about other people.

The app can also search public Threads posts by keyword or topic. When a public post is relevant to my work, I may keep its text, the username, the link, and the time it was posted in my own working notes. I do not sell those notes or share them.

1.3

How to ask

Write to jason@jasonchuang.com with the subject "Data deletion". Tell me what to look for: the email address on your account, or your Threads username and the link to the post.

You do not need to give a reason.

1.4

What happens next

I will confirm your request within five working days.

Account and lead records are deleted within 30 days of the request. Notes taken from a public post are deleted within 30 days of the request.

I will write to you again when the deletion is done.

1.5

What cannot be deleted

Payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require, which is currently seven years. Analytics data is aggregate and cannot be traced back to an individual, so there is nothing to remove for one person.
